Cerimonia commemorativa vittime del “Piroscafo Oria”
(12 febbraio 2017)<\/p>\n

L\u2019Ambasciata d\u2019Italia in Atene comunica che domenica 12 febbraio, alle ore 11:00, al chilometro 60 della strada costiera Atene – Sounion, avr\u00e0 luogo una cerimonia presso il Monumento dedicato ai Caduti del Piroscafo Oria che affond\u00f2 il 12 febbraio 1944 causando la morte di oltre 4.000 militari italiani destinati ai campi di concentramento nazisti.<\/p>\n

Si vuole cos\u00ec esprimere ammirazione per l\u2019umanit\u00e0 che il popolo Greco ha spontaneamente e immediatamente dimostrato ricordando ogni anno le vittime di questa orrenda tragedia. Si intende altres\u00ec rendere onore ai 4.115 nostri militari periti in quel naufragio e, insieme a loro, ai tanti altri di loro scomparsi in circostanze analoghe in quel periodo in Grecia.<\/p>\n

Grande merito va riconosciuto a coloro che si dedicano con instancabile impegno al ricordo di questi terribili episodi, come il Comune di Saronikos, quello di Seravezza e la \u201cRete delle vittime del naufragio del Piroscafo Oria\u201d. Conoscere realmente ci\u00f2 che \u00e8 accaduto ci \u00e8 necessario per evitare di commettere nuovi errori e nuovi crimini.<\/p>\n

Alla commemorazione prenderanno parte rappresentanti della Marina Militare Ellenica, il Capo dell\u2019Unit\u00e0 Regionale Attica Orientale, i Sindaci di Saronikos e Lavreotiki, gli Addetti Militari di diverse Rappresentanze straniere in Grecia.<\/p>\n

Un rito verr\u00e0 celebrato da S.E. l\u2019Arcivescovo Cattolico di Atene, Sevastianos Rossolatos.<\/p>\n

Insieme a esponenti della nostra comunit\u00e0, saranno presenti l\u2019Ambasciatore d\u2019Italia e l\u2019alto Rappresentante delle Forze Armate Italiane in Grecia.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Addetto Militare Italiano ad Atene, parteciper\u00e0 alla cerimonia che si svolger\u00e0 contemporaneamente in Italia nel Comune di Seravezza (LU).<\/p>\n
